Competitive products such as Hempasil, Sher-Release, Intersleek and/or Sigmaglide are applied using non-conventional methods with strict environmental limitations (temperature, relative humidity, etc.) and require a tie-coat for proper application. By contrast, HullSpeed 3000 commercial base coatings are applied using typical epoxy application methods, equipment, and environmental conditions currently in practice. HullSpeed coatings DO NOT require a tie-coat for adhesion.

HullSpeed is a silicone/epoxy copolymer having unique properties when in contact with water. It is extremely hydrophobic having surface properties approaching that of dimethyl silicones.

HullSpeed is perfectly suited for marine applications allowing for an easy cleaning of surfaces while providing reduced drag resistance through the water.

The low surface energy allows for easy removal of algae and grass and very weak adhesion of living organisms such as barnacles, tubeworms and other aquatic species. HullSpeed is a non-conductive coating thereby avoiding galvanic corrosion associated with antifouling paints on aluminum boats or components.
